Kivalliq-the central region of Canada’s Nunavut Territory

Repulse Bay is the Northern most hamlet in the Kivalliq Region. It is located right on the Arctic Circle. About 5 kilometers north of Repulse Bay there is a cliff where seagulls nest every June. It is from this nesting place that Naujaat got its name.The first legal bowhead whale hunt since Inuit put a ban on hunting bowhead whales. The whale was shared by all Inuit of Nunavut.
